FAQ
How do I place an order?
We accept orders over the phone during regular business hours, and through the custom inquiry forms. You may also email us with any questions at sweetcakesbyclarissa@gmail.com.
How far in advance can I place my order?
As soon as possible, generally at least two weeks before the event date. Orders needed in LESS THAN A WEEK, IF ACCEPTED, will be subject to an additional 15 % rush order fee. NEXT DAY ORDERS ARE NOT ACCEPTED.
Are you able to accommodate same day orders?
Unfortunately, same day orders and next day orders cannot be accommodated. We may be able to accommodate smaller size cakes or cupcake orders with a 3 day turn around.

How much is a custom cake/cupcake/cookies?
Base prices are listed, which include an inscription on the cake and standard shell piping on the border. Final Prices vary depending on the number of servings, any additions to the design and the level of difficulty.
Please call or fill out the appropriate custom inquiry form with as much information as possible to get an accurate quote, including any inspiration pictures. Visit our Flavors/Pricing page for more information on what is offered and starting base prices.

How do I pay for my order?
Most orders are invoiced via paypal or venmo. If your order is accepted, a 50% NON -REFUNDABLE RETAINER is due within 48 hours (deposit for cookies is due within 24 hours) to secure the date and the remainder balance due one week before the event date.
If the order is scheduled for less than two weeks, then the full amount will be due within 48 hours. If payments are not made within the allotted time frame, your invoice will be canceled and your slot will be offered to someone else. I can only take a limited number of orders per week and my calendar fills up quickly.
Are peanuts used in your home bakery?
No, we are a nut free facility! Although we sanitize surfaces and equipment between orders, possible cross contamination can occur with other allergens. If you are concerned about any type of allergy, we strongly advise against placing an order.
Do you offer sugar free cakes or cookies?
Unfortunately at this time, we do not offer sugar free options. We do, however, offer gluten friendly and vegan friendly cakes and royal icing cookies.
Can I pick up my order?
Your order can be picked up during normal business hours. Delivery to Hampton Roads/Peninsula only, charged at $1.50/mile roundtrip. Delivery is recommended for tier cakes, for safety of order.
Pickup Disclaimer
For orders that are not delivered, you are responsible for transporting your order safely to your destination. Sweet Cakes Bakery is not responsible for orders once they leave our premises. Keep in mind that cakes are very fragile, and if not handled properly, damages such as cracks, smudges, melted icing, etc. can occur. You will need a flat surface in your vehicle, such as the floorboard, so the cake is kept level to be safely transported. Cakes should never be placed on a seat or held in a passenger’s lap. It is best to turn on the air conditioning in the vehicle. We are not responsible for any damage occurring to the custom order during your own transport, set-up, or any time thereafter. We give instructions on how to carry, transport, and store your cake upon pick-up. Sweet Cakes Bakery is not responsible for any damage to the cake after delivery or after setup is complete. The customer is responsible for providing an appropriate environment for their order(s).
